The Growing Popularity Of Homemade Solar Panels

 

Many people on getting on the band wagon by making their own homemade solar panels to save money on their electric bill and power their whole home.  There is a way to make your own solar panels and a lot of information online about how to make them.  Solar panel kits come with plans and everything you need to build a solar panel.  The additional equipment you will need to make the whole system work includes an inverter to invert the power from DC to AC, a battery backup that stores energy for later use and a charge controller to regulate the solar panel system.

 

Most solar panel kits that you can buy and build yourself include a complete set of solar panels to construct, liquid flux, soldering iron, interconnection material, detailed instructions and soldering and wiring diagrams.  These kits usually run around just under $50 and you can add the additional equipment needed to construct usable homemade solar panels.  These solar panel kits have become very popular these days.  There are a variety of kits for building homemade solar panels available to buy and with today's newer developments and advancements in this technology so you can really create a better way to power your whole house or RV.

 

There are ways to build your own homemade solar panels from scratch, though this is not recommended.  The use of a kit is much better as the manufacturers have the equipment needed to create the solar cells properly.  If you don't want to take chances and possibly spend more in materials due to error, then kits for building homemade solar panels are going to be the most cost effective solution for you.

 

Once you have your homemade solar panels built, you are ready to get it setup for optimal energy collecting and storage.  Once you have the solar panels installed properly, you will need to attach the inverter to the panels and your home's electrical system and make sure the backup battery is properly wired and connected to ensure that it can store power for you.  Once everything is in place and connected properly, you will have a fully functional solar powered home.  You will notice a difference on your next month's electric bill.

I think for the money and with the instructions many of the kits come with, making them yourself is the best way to go. You can find the materials cheap and this isn't rocket science really. I grabbed the material list and instructions from my initial kit and went out and made my own to add to it, the ones I made were half the price, theres no reason to pay more just to have them come in peices anyway in a name brand box.

I don't know why I didn't think of building my own in the first place! Thank you Dale for your insight, I like your idea, this helps me figure out how to get started and how to build slowly, I think the project will be fun too

Its true that making your own solar panels is pretty easy. Most of the kits you can buy will tell you how to put them together and they come in pieces that show you how it goes together. What you can do is get a kit to get you started then you can go out and build your own from there by networking them all together. Great info thanks!
